Angle Tape Reveals What We Already Knew
Posted by

The media is all abuzz with the revelation of a tape of a meeting between Nevada Republican candidate for US Senate Sharron Angle and "Tea Party of Nevada" Senate candidate Scott Ashjian. Angle tries to convince Ashjian to leave the race, which Ashjian declines to do.
The tape mostly provides more evidence that Angle is who she says she is, and who she has always been. As Ben Smith of Politico describes, at least in this context, the tape reveals
The fact that Angle even met with Ashjian is another piece of evidence of how close the race really is. His claim that he is polling near 20% is nothing more than bluster. It would be quite a surprise if his support reached the high single-digits. But that might be enough to swing the election.

behind the facade of a real grassroots outsider who hates the organized Republican Party is ... a real grassroots outsider who hates the organized Republican Party. It is no secret that there is tension between the GOP establishment and candidates who have been swept to the fore in the wake of the Tea Party movement. RNC Chairman Michael Steele attempted to downplay this rift in his remarks yesterday but there are some in the Party establishment who feel threatened by the Tea Party movement, and with good reason.
